The Simcoe Residence is a ground-up residential new build where architectural openness is shaped through structural clarity and disciplined construction. Structural System & Spatial Volume
At the heart of the Simcoe Residence is a steel-based structural system integrated within a residential framework to achieve larger spans and open-plan living areas. This approach allows for double-height spaces, expansive glazing, and a clear visual connection between levels—elements that define the home’s modern architectural character.
A mezzanine level is introduced as a transitional layer between floors, providing functional space while preserving openness below. From a construction standpoint, this required precise coordination of steel beams, joists, and connections to ensure structural integrity without visually overloading the space.
Interior Framing & Build Precision
